Her Story
Meet Lauren Barnette, a multi-talented performer and educator with a heart devoted to the Performing Arts. A proud graduate of The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City, Lauren's artistic journey has taken her from her hometown of Cordele, Georgia, to stages in New York City, Kansas, Tennessee, and Georgia. Her extensive repertoire includes an impressive list of shows, ranging from beloved classics like 9 to 5, Legally Blonde, Brigadoon, and Oliver, to timeless favorites like Copacabana, State Fair, Kiss Me Kate, You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, Carousel, and Grease. Her performances have also graced the stage in productions such as Swing, Jekyll & Hyde, King and I, Annie, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, The Chaos Trade, Up in Central Park, Annie Get Your Gun, and various comedic sketches.
In addition to her impressive performing career, Lauren has honed her teaching skills, having experience teaching in New York City and serving as the Director of Performing Arts at a bilingual educational school in North New Jersey. Her teaching repertoire spans piano, voice, sight reading, dance, acting, and performing arts, showcasing her passion for nurturing young talents.
Lauren's profound belief in the power of the Performing Arts to shape lives and inspire creativity led her to pursue private piano and voice training for over two decades, alongside professional training in Dance and Acting in NYC.
With a genuine passion for teaching, Lauren's goal is to mold and shape the lives of children through the Performing Arts. She firmly believes in Pablo Picasso's words: "Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up." Through her guidance, Lauren seeks to empower her students, helping them develop skills that will leave a lasting positive impact for years to come.
Certified in Acrobatic Arts and proficient in tap, modern, and musical theatre, Lauren brings a wealth of expertise and creativity to her classes. At Empire Dance & Performing Arts Studio, she embraces the opportunity to ignite the artistic spark within her students, encouraging them to grow not only as performers but also as individuals.
